At a glance
- Size on peak hour, not on the daily average.
- Hoppers determine how many options your menu can carry.
- Cleaning, service and spare parts matter as much as output.
01
Type of service
The first decision is whether you serve soft serve, scooped ice cream from a display cabinet, or both. Soft serve delivers fast service and a consistent portion; a cabinet offers flavour variety but demands more stock management.
02
Peak-hour output
Size the machine on servings per peak hour, not the daily average. A machine that cannot recover during the rush creates queues and lost sales, while an oversized one ties up space and energy.
03
Hoppers, flavours and menu
A single hopper covers one flavour. Two hoppers give two flavours and usually a mix option - three menu items without a second machine.
04
Cooling, power and footprint
Air cooling needs proper ventilation around the unit. Water cooling performs better in enclosed, hot spaces. Check electrical supply, counter dimensions and ventilation clearances before ordering.
05
Cleaning, service and spare parts
Daily cleaning and ease of disassembly matter as much as raw output. A machine out of service means a lost day, so availability of technical support and spare parts is a critical supplier criterion.
